Edina Day of Service is a city-wide project that invites you to be part of what makes Edina a wonderful place to live, learn and work. We invite you to share part of your Saturday to work on a project with others who feel this same commitment to service. We hope you have fun. You will make a difference!

2011 Edina Day of Service Locations are listed below. Thank you to these organizations for helping us organize this successful day. Please contact us (below) if you would like to host a service site or if you have a suggestion of how to serve our community.

Knitting Mittens and Hats Edina Senior Center 5280 Grandview Square M-F 8:00 - 4:30       Sue Weigle Pick up yarn from Senior Center ahead of time, if needed.  The Senior Center is closed on Saturdays.
Creating Outdoor Learning Spaces Highlands Elementary Highlands Elementary School 9:30 am - noon   No age limit, families welcome; supervising adult present with children under age 12 Bring gloves and any gardening tools you may have:  shovels, rakes, weeding tools, pruners, wheelbarrows. Making Sandwiches for 363 Wooddale Church, Edina Campus Wooddale Church, 5532 Wooddale Avenue 8:30   All ages welcome!   Gary Clark  
Food Pantry Help Community Emergency Services, South Minneapolis Wooddale Church, 5532 Wooddale Avenue Bus departs Wooddale at 8:30 am, returns by 12:30 pm 20 7 and older   Gary Clark

Computer Recycling Jerry's Foods   9:00 - noon       Kitty O'Dea Volunteers from FREE GEEK TWIN CITIES will be collecting used laptops, computers towers and flat screen monitors.  Data security is important to FREE GEEK, so hard drives are either erased and overwritten or destroyed to ensure no data recovery.  Go to freegeektwincities.org
Making Sandwiches for Homeless Shelters Southdale YMCA Check in at front desk 1:00 - 1:45 pm and 2:00 - 2:45 pm       Mary Lokowich Please pre-register ASAP!
