Connecting With Kids Edina

Board of Directors

The board of directors guides Connecting With Kids (CWK) strategic goals and takes action as required to help provide support to others in the community in their efforts to Connect With Kids. Membership will include:

City of Edina Manager
Superintendent of Schools
President of Chamber of Commerce
Spiritual Leader Representative
Three Business or community leaders (three-year term)
Executive Director of Edina Community Foundation
Two student representatives (alternating two-year terms)

The board of directors requires a quorum to take formal action. A majority vote of the board is required for actions of the board. The board shall elect a chair who shall serve in the position for two years.

The board of directors will elect the spiritual leader representative and business or community leaders based on candidates submitted by the chair. Current Board Members:

The directors’ duties will include:

Identifying projects, initiatives, events and activities which further the CWK mission and support asset development in kids.
Ensuring the development, implementation and assessment of the strategic goals based on the results of the assets survey
Seeking support for the specific goal’s projects and tasks
Creating resource connections within the community for events, activities and projects that promote the CWK mission.
Communicating with the advisory council and community regarding Connecting With Kids
Being the decision-making body for Connecting With Kids’:

Financial commitments
Governance demands

FISCAL HOST

The Edina Community Foundation serves as the charitable foundation for CWK. All charitable contributions shall be directed to the Foundation for CWK.

CWK ADVISORY COUNCIL

The advisory council will be comprised of individuals from a variety of community roles, including business leaders, faith leaders, government representatives, students, parents, seniors and those identified in the community as positional leaders. The directors will invite individuals to be council members. Interested individuals shall submit a written application to the chair of the board of directors.

The advisory council shall meet twice per year. One meeting will guide the development of the strategic goals for the year. The second meeting will provide qualitative and quantitative data related to the effectiveness of the goals.

CWK TASK FORCES

A task force will be convened as needed with representation from key committee members to provide necessary support to complete identified projects and tasks. The task force will identify a representative who will report to the directors on a regular basis.
